Team

My role
UX designer - UI designer
When
From 2020 to 2022.
Problems
The old version of Aruba Sign, software for certified digital signatures, has high support costs and can no longer scale to accommodate new features required by eIDAS, the European regulator in this field.
First research iteration
Research insights
Users primarily use the signing feature, with some also using verification, while the other features are rarely used.
There are two main user personas: those who sign one document at a time and those who perform multiple signatures. However, the process is complicated due to a problematic pattern where documents can be dropped onto a button, creating confusion.
The graphical signature feature does not display a preview of the signatures and makes navigating through documents difficult. Additionally, multiple graphical signatures cannot be performed.
The application preferences are hidden and not easily discoverable.
Second research iteration
The idea
Testing
Testing insights
Users find the new UI clear and can easily locate everything.
Tab-based navigation is not an issue.
Secondary features are easily discoverable.
The new graphical signature experience is easy to use.
Results
Goal
Six months after the release of the new version of the software, support costs decreased by 80%.
Product growth
Research
We run surveys to understand user satisfaction, their needs, pain points, and to test new business ideas.
We analyze feedback daily, clustering and measuring it against each other; this helps guide the roadmap.
Results after 4 years
+ 1M app downloads
We have over one million app downloads.
Rating
Aruba sign has 3,1 at MOOD rating, the second one in the company. (CSAT is complex due to tech problem being a desktop app).
